preventing disease with nutritional kinesiology

Muscle testing is the way many people describe applied kinesiology; a system of physical analysis using muscles as a guide. We perform muscle testing in Beverly Hills as a series of tests.  Nutritional kinesiology is one aspect of applied kinesiology muscle testing, where we investigate nutritional and metabolic aspects of your health. Applied kinesiology can help us assess other aspects of your condition, too. However, not all muscle response testing doctors, or applied kinesiologists near Beverly Hills are using the same methods; not even close.

The type of kinesiology we do in Beverly Hills differs from typical muscle testing methods other applied kinesiology doctors practice. That’s why previous marginal success with other nutritional kinesiology doctors, or chiropractic kinesiologists has no bearing on predicting our success. Even if you’ve “been there, done that” with muscle testing or chiropractic kinesiology, my testing method, described below, is unique. Now, with our help, your results could be better.

Unique Chiropractic Kinesiology Method

Our goal is not to test a muscle’s strength at all, but instead to observe neural control of your muscles. Our specific testing method could be more accurately called an intent-based neural-control task, but nobody uses that language. It is an intentional response, which means you are trying to control it as best you can. That’s your task. It’s not what you would usually picture with the terms “muscle test,” “muscle testing,” “arm test,” or “muscle response testing.” Those descriptions used by chiropractic kinesiologists, usually connote strength testing.

What’s an arm test?

Ever wonder why blood tests (drawing blood through a vein) are not called “vein tests?” Because the vein doesn’t matter. Likewise, for my nutritional kinesiology method, it’s your subtle control of your response that matters the most; not your strength.

The following clarifies what makes us unique, and so different than most “muscle testing,” “nutrition muscle testing,” or kinesiology nutrition.

Similarities and differences with muscle testing doctors

Our testing system starts with Nutrition Response Testing (NRT), or what you could call nutritional kinesiology.  We are proud to be the top-of-the-line choice for nutrition response testing near Beverly Hills. Like in applied kinesiology, the starting point is observing if your body is able to respond correctly. This crucial distinction is the foundation stone. With kinesiology muscle testing near Beverly Hills, the usual measure is based on the strength of the response. But with my method, the testing is based on your ability to control your responses. It’s like how well you can write words vs. how big you can scribble. Neural control is very subtle, and can give so much more insight than just testing brute muscle strength.

In other words, we’re focusing on stability, not muscle strength. Since muscle strength is not the focus, it doesn’t matter how “strong,” or “weak” you are. It is also much harder for a patient to outsmart the test with force. With an optimal response, your muscle reaction and stability are immediate. Can you hold your arm or leg still against a minimal, varying force? Imagine if you were standing with your arm held out and I asked you to hold your arm still. It should be easy for you to do, right? However, if I were to stamp on your foot, do you think you could still hold your arm still? Our experience shows that about 80% of people with chronic fatigue, ADD, migraines, or leaky gut also can not!

Why we prefer to observe response delay (latency)

Applied Kinesiology muscle testing and our nutritional kinesiology with nutrition response testing look similar, but the tests differ. Trying to measure relative strength is more potentially inaccurate than observing a response delay . It’s like trying to pick the largest melon at the supermarket by comparing their weights in both your hands. When you finally put them each on the scale, you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

Muscle Testing: Which One Weighs More?

So, instead of using such a potentially inaccurate measuring parameter, we analyze your reaction control. Is your response fully controlled or not? A slightly delayed response is clear. There’s no relative scale of strength we are trying to decipher. We are evaluating a neurological event seen through subtle muscle performance tests. We observe your muscle responses to know if you have optimum/uninhibited nerve pathway function between your brain and body.

By making one change with each subsequent iteration of the testing, we see if there is a different response. These muscle responses are very important. Delayed responses may reflect a state of less than optimal well-being, and may indicate some underlying dysfunction needing more investigation.

Whole Body Nutritional Kinesiology Chiropractor

Applied kinesiology chiropractors may do muscle testing for a localized problem with a muscle. We do that too. However, we start by testing for delayed responses that will be evident regardless of which muscle group we use. This is an integrative, whole-body approach to your optimal wellness and health.

Done correctly as part of your health assessment, this type of muscle response testing can give us key information. It is a way to get greater insight about your whole body, and the body systems that need attention. Even previous blood tests may be seen in a new light. We use all the clinical information to develop a model of the mechanisms underlying your condition. That’s called functional medicine.

Nutritional Kinesiology Beverly Hills

Our unique kinesiology method is a powerful evaluative tool that combines clinical nutrition with our evolved kinesiology in Beverly Hills. We use it to observe your body’s response when allergens, foods, or environmental toxins would contact your body.

Through a series of sequential, repeatable muscle response observations (clinical kinesiology nutrition), the insight we gather about your body’s underlying condition (basic functions of your body like digestion, elimination, immune function, spinal function, brain function, etc.) can be profound. Kinesiology muscle testing is a necessary part of any high-performance health-promoting program.

I am proud to be one of the very few kinesiology doctors in Los Angeles who has mastered this evaluation method. I welcome you to call for your appointment.
